100 years for Aunty Vera

Mum, Helen and I are driving to Adelaide this weekend to spent Aunty's special birthday with her. She only has one child, Peter and he has been caring for her since she lost her husband, Ray.
Aunty Vera is a sister to Mum's mother Nan Skipper (Violet) and the 2nd child of William and Olive (Godenzi) There were 11 children. And Aunty Vers's great grandmother lived to 107 years. So, the longetivity comes from Mums side!!
We will put some photos on here next week when we return.

I am disappointed that I can be with you all. Never mind - she might have a few more yet.

Note: she was the 2nd child of William and Olive GOWER (Olive was a
Godenzi). Suzi I am not being a smarty pants - just giving the overlooked married name.

So kids - Auntie Vera is a sister to Voilet Skipper(Nan Taylor's mother) and many others. Voilet was the eldest of the Gower children.

They lived on Killara Station, Tilpa is the days of the paddle steamers and horse and buggy. Nan Skipper used to take her brothers and sisters in the horse and buggy into Tilpa for school. She eventually stopped going because the owner offered for her to be taught by the governess that was teaching his daughter (I think). I might have to confirm this with Nan Taylor.

Apparently the horse didn't like camels and would play up.
